Only thing it cant do, it assing what cache type to what drive, ieĤg ram is use as cache +(ram drive 8g(treads it like a physical drive) via primo ult ram drive +4g ram(iram)Īll cache is use to cache my c ssd raid-800mb/sec) and ,my e drive (2tb hit 7200rmp -90mb/sec avg) and 20g of ssd in raid 0(800mb/sec) 2nd volumn, intel raid. Im using it to cache(prefetch) my raid 0 (3x ssd) (helps wear n tear) helps reduce load times+ wear n tear on original source media duplicate file from source to cached locations(ssd/hdd/usb3/raid ssd/hdd) read can set unlimited cache (hdd/ssd/ssd in raid/hdd in raid) can set cache on/off for drives+ paths+ extensions type Marvel controller is slower in real life than the intel raid controller(even if hdd is in non raid)Įboostr has more control options for tweaking(pro v4.5)

The annoying thing is that I use a PERC 5 raid card for my video "archives" and it needed the "pin mod" otherwise I only saw 8G of the 16G installed. When I reinstall I'd love to see the speed.

When I'm booting windows it still acesses the HDD, but it dropped my bloated Win7 boot time from about 2 mins to 60 seconds. It can also be added after the fact without having to nuke windows. I think the SSD cacheing is good way of getting value from what you have already. It's funny to watch Win7 users with SSD's boot windows only to not be able to browse the internet, cause IPV6 is still trying to get an address from a (non-existing) IPV6 server. Lastly, if the main thing you are after is windows boot speed just stop all the crap loading at startup. Īnd then you have the "giant" steam/valve dir.

Now which letter do I install this on? Oh damn. Iv tested all 3 setups (6 months), eboostr safest, n caches you files without data loss(read only boost), but does not help in booting windows faster, after windows loads, it starts to work, speed up acess)Įboostr works with supercache 5, one prefetechs data, other caches data 2nd time aroundĬlick to expand. If you want to ENSURE that it will always be the best then, yes buy lots of SSD's and use careful placement of the files, but I hate "The alphabet soup game" you have to play. cached known history files to ssd, so loads from ssd first, if ssd fails, no data lost.but only start to work from windows load(so normal hdd loadup via hdd) first Use a ssd for read caching only, like eboostr. Whereas ssd out faster.if data is lost on ssd(corruption) data loss.

If pc does not shut down properly(say gaming) has to flush cache/check.takes up to 5 minutes at blank screen (after intel raid), before loading windows again. than is better than ocz cache ssd+software(crashes offen ocz, no raid support etc) Intel ssd raid cache is much more reliable. (xp system) You can ask eBoostr anytime to repopulate the cache.Helps cache hdd from boot up/ shutdown.(startup via ssd)

So although windows explorer might already be in the ram - the thumbnails in a photo folder were read from eBoostr. Well it was beneficial for me because the netbook was slow due to harddisk thrashing - basically it creates a cache for frequent harddisk reads/writes. So you guys are indicating this isn't smoke and mirrors, but it's in fact a significant performance enhancement? I admit skepticism, but I'm also curious.

i can't say i've noticed the built in ReadyBoost making much difference (it may have even slowed things down for me), though they sound like very similar cache managers.Īt $39.99 for the full Pro version, I would hope the "boost" is more than marginal. Worth a try - i'd be happy if speeds up the load time of my commonly used programs. I used this with great result on a slow-ssd netbook. That’s nearly 750MB of memory that is not being used! eBoostr is able to access this “hidden” memory and will put it to work for you and your system.-eBoostr Not much, but faster all the same.Īlthough you may have purchased 4GB of RAM for your system, 32-bit Windows can only use up to 3.25GB. I am certain it has made things happen just a little faster on my 32-bits Vista. I have just upgraded to the new eBoostr Pro 4.
